(Think on These Things)
Glorify God
- When we glorify God, we cannot add to His glory. His glory is already complete.
Our glorifying God is really only acknowledging the glory He already has.
Freedom
- If you say you are indebted to God, that you owe Him your life, that is the wrong way to
look at your relationship with Him. It cannot be a debt, because you cannot pay Him
back. You don't serve Him because of what you owe, but because of who He is.
God has removed your debt, so there is no debt. We receive his blessings by His
grace. If there was anything to do to pay the debt, it would only be by His grace,
and when you exercised his grace, you would be even more in debt! This is the
freedom we have in Christ, in that He has removed our debt.
Marriage
- Marriage is a picture of Jesus' relationship to the church.
See Ephesians 5:23-33. The husband is to love his wife as Jesus loves
the church, and the wife is to submit to the husband as the church
does to Jesus. Therefore, someone, by looking at your marriage, should
be able to understand the relationship between Christ and the church.
Does this reflect your marriage? It should.
Children
- The nation of Israel began with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The entire nation came through Abraham's one child, Isaac.
You, with your children, have begun a nation. Generations from now,
your future offspring will be able to point back to you.
What kind of a nation are you building? What will your nation
be known as? Godly, loving, kind? Or troubled, addictions, problems?
Will it be known to help others, or be warlike, selfish, materialistic?
What legacy are you leaving?
Worship
- Early Sunday mornings, to prepare for worship, we need to spend time feeling the starvation.
We need to hunger and thirst for God and His Word. We need to get ready to feed.
The Nature of God
- If you think about it, Adam had more trouble that any of the rest of us buying his
Father a gift for Father's day. I mean, what do you get somebody who's Everything?
